PRE-AMPLIFIERS

CPR-28  PRE-AMP RESTORATION SYSTEM FOR AO-28 PRE-AMPS
The Trek II ® CPR-28 is a premium product designed to provide technicians with the means to restore like-new operation to aging AO-28 pre-amps which are used in classic Hammond® A-100, B-3, C-3, D-100 and RT-3 organs.  The CPR-28 replaces every resistor and fixed capacitor in the pre-amp including the two multi-section can capacitors.  While not every tonewheel organ warrants this level of restoration, the CPR-28 is provided for those organs requiring the very highest level of quality and reliability in the AO-28.

FEATURES:

FPK-28  PRE-AMP FUSE PROTECTION KIT

Almost all of the AO-28 pre-amps used in Hammond A-100, B-3, C-3, D-100 and RT-3 organs left the factory without the benefit of fuse protection. In fact, most technicians are quite surprised to learn that during the waning years of production, Hammond did in fact install fuses in a limited number of these pre-amps. Evidence suggests that this was done to pass the more stringent CSA requirements so that it would be possible to export these organs into Canada.

Instead of installing a single fuse on the primary of the pre-amp power transformer, Hammond determined that a fuse on each of the secondary windings offered a higher level of protection. The Trek II ® FPK-28 kit has 4 fuses of the same rating as the ones originally installed by the Hammond factory. By utilizing existing holes in the chassis, the FPK-28 allows these fuses to be easily added to existing AO-28 pre-amps without any drilling or modification to the chassis.

SSP-3A  SOLID STATE PRE-AMP
Replaces pre-amps used in most standard Hammond tone wheel consoles.  Building on the heritage of the original SSP-3, the new SSP-3A has been carefully designed to faithfully reproduce the response of the original tube pre-amp when it was new.

Eliminate the intermittent static, crackling, loss of volume, and general degradation of sound quality that can be caused by aging components in the original pre-amp.

STANDARD FEATURES:

OPTIONS:

PERCUSSION CONTROL HEAD.
By adding the TP-3B percussion control head, the percussion circuitry of the SSP-3 can be utilized to add B-3 type percussion to older consoles which did not originally have this feature.  When purchased together, a package price is available.

AUXILIARY AMPLIFIER CHANNELS.
Provides 2 additional amplifier channels and a separate enclosure with input jacks, output jacks and level controls.  These channels may be used to play other keyboard instruments, rhythm units, etc. through their own amplification system, but under the control of the organ swell pedal.  In addition, either input can be routed through the organ sound system by moving a jumper on the circuit board.  When configured this way, the AUX-1 input will be expressed, and the AUX-2 input will be un-expressed.

BASS, TREBLE, AND PERCUSSION LEVEL.
Provides precise control over the organ's bass, treble, percussion and overall level.
Since the BTC-1A is mounted on the SSP-3A chassis, the controls are located inside the console. This allows the owner to adjust the sound to their exact preference and not have to worry about others tampering with the settings.

BASS, TREBLE, AND PERCUSSION LEVEL END BLOCK.
Provides precise control over the organ's bass, treble, percussion and overall level.
The BTC-2A mounts in place of either left end block and gives the organist the ability to tailor the sound while performing.

LESLIE SPEAKER ACCESSORIES

EIS-122 and EIS-147  ELECTRONIC MOTOR CONTROL RELAYS

The EIS-122 and EIS-147 are solid state devices which provide a silent and extremely reliable alternative to the old style electromechanical relays originally supplied in 122 and 147 type Leslie speakers. Ideal for use in studio, church, and professional applications where quiet switching or ultimate reliability is essential.

These units are fully compatible with existing stock Leslie control circuits and therefore require no changes at the console for standard operation.

For those wishing for more than basic relay replacement, both units also have the capability to add brake-to-off and coast-to-off functions without additional wiring from the console. To utilize these advanced features, a suitable 3 position switch must be supplied by the installer. Three position versions of the TS-2 are available pre-wired specifically for this purpose.

LBG-10  BEARING GROMMET
The LBG-10 is a reproduction of the original #543-051037 grommet used in the lower rotor bearings as well as in the idler spring assembly of many Leslie models.

Sold in packages of 10 only.

LCO-1A  CROSSOVER
Allows older two channel Leslie speakers like the 710 and 720 to function as single channel cabinets making them much easier to utilize with a wide variety of instruments.  As originally manufactured, these older cabinets do not function acceptably with single channel full frequency range signals.

The LCO-1A provides an active crossover which keeps low bass signals (below 150 HZ) out of the rotary channel where they could cause damage to the small rotosonic speaker.  These signals are routed instead through the stationary channel to the 15" speaker where they are properly handled.

LIA-1  IDLER ASSEMBLY
The LIA-1 is an improved version of the original #522-050708 idler spring assembly.  A slightly oversized wheel helps provide longer operating life.  Used to tension the treble horn drive belt in the following Leslie models:

21H, 22H, 22R, 45, 47, 51, X77L, X77P, 122, 122R, 122RV, 122V, 142, 145, 147, 147RV, 222, 222RV, 242, 245, 247, 247RV, 251, 257, 351, 357, 600, 710, 760, 770, 900, 910, 925.

LXC-2  LESLIE DUAL CROSSOVER CAPACITOR

The Trek II ® LXC-2 is designed to replace the crossover capacitors used in most Leslie® speakers that have a tube amplifier, permanent magnet bass speaker, and treble horn. Because of their age, the original dual capacitors used in these crossovers have begun to deteriorate and drift in value. This can result in a shifting of the original 800 Hz crossover frequency as well as a general loss of sound quality.

The LXC-2 utilizes a modern polypropylene dielectric and provides the exact capacitance values originally used in these speakers. (12.5 μF and 7.8 μF)

Because polypropylene capacitors offer significantly lower ESR and tighter tolerance than the electrolytic capacitors used in later Leslie crossovers, the LXC-2 can also be used to upgrade the performance of these units as well.

NOTE: The GNR-1A and GNR-2A are not usable to replace pedal frequencies on spinet organs, since these tone wheel outputs are not sine wave signals.

KBF-1  UPSTOP FELT
The KBF-1 is an exact reproduction of the #042-022369 B-3 type upstop felt.  An essential part of any Hammond console restoration or busbar lube job, it helps restore the "new feel" and quiet operation to the keyboard.

Easily installed on late A-100, B-3, C-3, D-100, and RT-3 organs. (These organs are identified by front strips that are secured with Phillips head screws.)

Also usable on earlier consoles.  However, front strip removal on these organs requires substantial disassembly of the keyboards.

OBL-2  LINE OUTPUT BOX
The OBL-2 allows standard Hammond consoles to be connected via a 1/4" output jack to an external amplification system.  The box is made from heavy gauge anodized aluminum and easily mounts under the generator shelf or other convenient location.  The unit has both an overall output and one that is low pass filtered.  The low pass output is useful when using a bass amp to reinforce the organ low end.  A level control is provided to allow the output signal to be adjusted to match the amplifier input requirements.

NOTE: Most commercial and musical instrument amplifiers are not designed for organ use and will not give the same sound quality as a Leslie or Hammond tone cabinet.  However there are circumstances where connecting to an external amplifier is still desirable.  These include temporary installations, rental instruments, and adding a bass amp to give the organ more low end power.

NOTE: Pre-amps in early console models (A, AB, AV, B, BA, BC, BCV, BV, C, CV, D, DV, and G) receive their DC operating voltage from the tone cabinet and will not produce an output if  the tone cabinet is disconnected.

OBX SERIES  OUTLET BOXES
The OBX series of outlet boxes are the same size, shape and color as those originally provided on BV, B-2, and B-3 organs.  OBX units may be used to replace damaged or missing outlet boxes as well as to upgrade older consoles not originally equipped with outlet boxes.  Designed to be mounted on either side of the console, end to end (multiple units), or in an inverted position (for C style cases).

POR-11 POWER-ON RELAY

The POR-11 power-on relay is designed to facilitate the installation of 11 pin Leslie speakers on Hammond tonewheel consoles. Unlike the older 6 and 9 pin models, 11 pin Leslies have their own AC mains plug and use a low voltage turn-on circuit. The POR-11 allows these Leslies to be conveniently turned on and off with the existing console power switch, thus alleviating the problems associated with having a separate Leslie power switch.

LINE VOLTAGE CONSIDERATIONS

When used outside of the U.S., special care must be given to specify the correct line voltage for all products which require connection to the AC power line. Although many products are available in both 110 Volt and 220/240 Volt versions, this is not the case for every product.  In addition, because a product may be installed inside an organ which is connected to an external step-down transformer, the fact that the local line voltage is 220/240 Volt does not automatically determine that the 220/240 Volt version of a product is appropriate.  The following information is provided to make selection easier.  If further assistance is required, please contact the factory.

SPECIAL NOTES REGARDING THE UC-1A:

The UC-1A is available in both 110 Volt and 220/240 Volt versions.  However, since the AC power supplied to the UC-1A is passed along to the Leslie 6 and 9 pin connectors, the UC-1A must be ordered with the same voltage rating as the Leslie(s) being used.

EXAMPLES:

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING 220/240V LESLIES IN THE 147 FAMILY:  220/240V Leslies in the 147 family were manufactured with either a 120V or 240V tremolo control relay.  The UC-1A can be made compatible with either type, however the relay voltage of the particular unit MUST be determined first so that the UC-1A can be configured properly.  Contact the factory for assistance in determining the requirements of your particular unit.
